Chapter 487 - 28: Devouring (Part 3)
The sentinel on the high ridge waved the command banner, and several teams of strong warriors stepped out of the camp, using ropes and tools to move the remaining Demon Dragon carcasses back to the camp for research purposes.
An eager scholar, having seen Black Dragon Rosani enter the camp, came forward to report to the Black Dragon.
"Your Majesty Rosani, all the preparations are basically complete, and the other details have been mostly figured out," the scholar reported, holding a notebook in hand, and seeing the Black Dragon nod, he quickly continued.
"This world is divided into four continents, and the one we’re on is called the Essos Continent. We are currently located at the cultural center of the Essos Continent, at the border of the Land of Long Summer next to Valerian,"
The scholar presented the information explored by the Flying Dragon Riders and the rough maps drawn by scholars, pointing them out to Black Dragon Rosani one by one.
"... In this world, most of the mined resources have been tested, and three of them can serve as alternative materials for crafting Miser Cores,"
"Moreover, the civilization in this world is not highly developed, and the utilization of mineral resources is quite low, with significant potential for development and utilization,"
"In Valerian, there is also a method of casting magic alloy. By using ores excavated from the Fourteen Fire Peaks, a special alloy can be cast with Magic. The performance of weapons made from this alloy is excellent and can be improved for use as weapons for the warriors."
Black Dragon Rosani had just finished eating, making it a time of utmost patience, hence he squinted his eyes and listened patiently to the scholar’s lengthy discourse.
Once the scholar paused, he brought his head closer to the scholar and asked softly, "Is there any assessment on the real obstacles of this world, the deepest powers?"
The scholar turned to the last page of his document, nodded, and said, "Your Majesty Rosani, according to the information sent back by scholars infiltrated into the capital of the Fortress of Freedom, Valerian City, and mages infiltrated into Old Town Academy on another continent, Westeros Continent,"
"We can learn that although the Magic in this world is currently flourishing, it is completely incomparable to the Imperial forces. Moreover, those gods renowned in the Mortal World, whether due to their divine status preventing them from descending or due to some limitations, all these Divine Spirits’ real direct powers cannot impact the world,"
"They can only manifest miracles through some means to influence activities in the Mortal World," the scholar said with a slight smile. "Aside from the King of Light R’hllor, who has indeed shown miracles, there is only his adversary, the Cold God, who retains real and undeniable servants in the world."
"If that’s the case, then let’s begin,"
Black Dragon Rosani raised his head, looking towards the sky, where the gate leading to his homeland had long since closed. Though he hadn’t been in this world for long, he was starting to miss his Dragon Nest and the Empire of the Dragon Group.
"Except for the Flying Dragon Riders, have all the warriors and casters infiltrate Valerian, and establish a precise teleportation Plane Coordinate Tower in the city,"
Black Dragon Rosani said quietly, "When the Emperor of the Imperial Karon descends personally, we can directly sweep away all rulers there and raise our Golden Empire’s Royal Banner in this world!"
...
Nalia, draped in a black robe, her beautiful face and long hair hidden under a dark hood, stepped slowly into the hot and dry cave in the stifling air.
In the closed and dark mine tunnel of the Fourteen Fire Peaks, only torches spaced tens of steps apart illuminated the space, with shadowy figures moving within the mine like specters.
The red-robed monks behind her were also dressed in black robes, following the former Red-robed Witch Nalia as she moved through the mine tunnel.
In the early part of the journey through the tunnel, it was calm and deep, but deeper in, from time to time, creatures would suddenly emerge from the pits.
These creatures were similar in form to Dragons but lacked wings, and the larvae were about the size of a child’s arm.
In the lower-tier tales of Valerian, these creatures were distant relatives of Dragons, and they could breathe fire and grow as gigantic as Giant Dragons, intensely detesting humans.
The Fireball Skill of the Red-robed Witch Nalia was completely ineffective against these Dragon Worms. Only the weapons of the red-robed monks could repel these worms quietly appearing in the rock soil.
In these drilled wells, one would often find charred corpses of slaves, but they could not stir the hearts of the Red God Priests.
The calm face of the Red-robed Witch was concealed under the dim lamp light, yet her thoughts were not as calm as her exterior.
As a priestess of the Red God, the King of Light R’hllor, every time in flames, she saw what the True God showed the future, a prophetic fragment of shadowy images that required interpretation based on the knowledge and situation by these priests.
For many years, it has always been thus.
But this time, it defied common sense, with continuous miraculous signs, each a clear and direct indication of purpose.
In her mind, she could still see the mages freely wielding Magic, as free as the wind, with their Magic needing no cost to be wielded at will.
While she, as a follower of the King of Light, even simple Flame Magic required some price to muster her power.
"No, perhaps, it’s not my power but a borrowed power," Nalia couldn’t help but think.
She tightened her grip on the item hidden in her bosom, feeling a sense of hesitation rising at that moment.
What she hid in her bosom was a key to open the Gate of Destruction. Using it would lead to the destruction of the entire Fourteen Fire Peaks, and then Valerian.
Even those Demon Dragons might not be able to escape such calamity.
"Perhaps those mages weren’t entirely wrong in their view," the Red-robed Witch sighed, gazing at the silhouette waiting ahead in the darkness.
That person, also hooded, hidden in the shadows, was known to Nalia only as the new leader of the rebellion. He was said to be the leader of a nascent sect within the mines, worshipping the deity known as the God of a Thousand Faces.
