Chapter 368: Crimson Arc Response.
Chapter 368: Crimson Arc Response.
"Break their legs!" Kiera roared, her blood-filled mouth making her look menacing. "If they keep swinging, take their heads!"
The Crimson Arc Guild members answered with fierce shouts.
They had endured too much in the Crimson Dunes.
They had endured the arrogance of stronger guilds.
They had endured the threats of the Slave Trade Guild.
They had endured the contempt of factions that believed the Crimson Arc Guild would always retreat.
But today, they would no longer take a single step back.
Standing at the end of the street, two figures standing in the shadow watched the ongoing battle with sneers playing on their lips.
"From this, we can conclude the Crimson Arc Guild is working with the Grim Reaper," one of them muttered.
The other figure nodded. "Indeed..." he paused for a moment before he added.
"That bastard. We must not allow him to live this time. With all the shit he did on the first floor, we must make him pay."
"Of course, we are going to make him pay. I heard we are not the only ones after him. Even the Slave Trade Guild is after him."
"What do you expect from those insane groups? But we are not going to allow him to fall into their hands. He belongs to us."
"That is right. He belongs to us."
They might not have cared about the Grim Reaper in the past, but the current rumor about him having endless supplies changed everything.
Such easy pie was just too good to ignore. As for their past grievances, that was just a ploy to attack him.
The first figure folded his arms and watched another mob member fall beneath Kiera’s axe.
"Let them fight," he said quietly. "The more blood spilled, the more pressure the Crimson Arc Guild will face."
The second figure chuckled. "And when the town starts blaming them, they will either reveal the Grim Reaper or collapse under their own stubbornness."
Neither of them cared about the lives being lost.
To them, the mob was only a tool.
While the two figures were planning how to force the Crimson Arc Guild to reveal the Grim Reaper’s hideout, a figure stood inside a room by the window, watching the battle.
’How is this possible?’
’Mantis Town should have been destroyed by the beast tide.’
’How are they still standing?’ Her face was riddled with confusion.
She knew how terrifying the beast tide was, and no town would survive such an attack and remain standing.
And yet, Mantis Town had done it and somehow recovered quickly.
The streets were still standing.
The people were still alive.
The Crimson Arc Guild had not collapsed.
Even the Mantis Men, who should have been broken by fear, were moving with more confidence than before.
’Is it possible it is because of him?’ she thought.
She orchestrated everything flawlessly and was merely waiting for the result.
But now, her plan has failed.
Failed badly.
’This is going to disrupt my plan.’ She creased her brow. ’I need this town gone as quickly as possible.’
’As for him, as long as he cannot complete his trial, he will eventually fall into my hands.’
Her fingers tightened on the window frame. For a brief moment, a strange, possessive light flashed through her eyes.
She did not care how much chaos the Crimson Dunes fell into.
She did not care how many people died.
She only cared about one thing.
Thoren Starfall.
The more he struggled, the more interesting he became.
The more he resisted fate, the more she wanted to drag him back into the darkness prepared for him.
Bang! Bang!
Just then, the battle took a new turn. Members of the Crimson Arc Guild had arrived. In the lead was Riven, and behind him was the Elite Squad.
Their arrival instantly changed the pressure on the street.
The mob, which had been relying on numbers and chaos, suddenly felt a cold blade pressed against its throat.
"Ah! My hand!"
"No... Do not kill me..."
Screams and pleas filled the air.
The mob lost their confidence as they began to flee, but how could the Crimson Arc Guild allow them?
"Do not... I surrender..." a thin young man pleaded, falling to his knees.
Unfortunately for him, what welcomed him was a swift dagger cutting through his throat.
The dagger wielding woman spat on him and rushed to chase after her next target.
The message was clear.
Kill.
A group of five tried to run into a side alley, only to be intercepted by two Crimson Arc Guild members carrying long spears.
The spears stabbed forward together.
Blood splattered against the mud wall.
Another group attempted to grab nearby Mantis Men as shields, but before their hands could touch them, Kiera’s axe swept across the street like a storm.
Boom!
Two bodies flew backward, crashing into a broken stall.
"You dare touch them before me?" Kiera shouted, her grin becoming even more savage.
The Mantis Men elders watching from a nearby shelter trembled slightly, but their eyes also carried deep relief.
Standing at the highest building on the central street, Solenne released her aura, suffocating those below.
The entire central street seemed to freeze beneath her presence. Even those still fighting felt their movements slow down.
The weaker mob members collapsed to their knees, their faces turning pale.
The stronger ones raised their heads in dread, realizing that the true authority of the Crimson Arc Guild had arrived.
"Anyone that causes trouble will be killed with no exception," she declared ruthlessly.
Her voice was not loud, but it spread across the street with terrifying clarity.
Inside the room by the window, the mysterious woman also watched Solenne with narrowed eyes.
’So, this is the guild leader,’ she thought.
Her gaze moved from Solenne to the fleeing mob, then to the Mantis Men hiding behind the Crimson Arc Guild members.
’If I cannot break them from outside, I will break them from within.’ With that thought, she vanished from the window.
