Chapter 456: Choosing to Sacrifice Evelyn Morgan

"So, someone like you is really a perfect match for Evelyn." L raised his voice, "Like Caden Lockwood, growing up in such a complex environment, he knows how to live better, and in the face of conflict of interest, he might choose to sacrifice Evelyn."

L added, "When that time comes, Evelyn would have already been head over heels for him. Don’t you think that kind of outcome is even worse?"

Logan Shaw remained silent, not saying a word.

"As a man myself, I can see Caden Lockwood’s feelings for Evelyn are genuine." Logan Shaw said softly, "He won’t abandon Evelyn."

"Foolish!" L was evidently angered, "Logan Shaw, you’re really stubborn! You don’t have your brother’s adaptable mind at all!"

Logan Shaw’s hands unconsciously clenched, naturally feeling angry at L’s words too.

"Do you think everything is as it seems on the surface?" L snapped, "Why did Evelyn get kidnapped today? Who kidnapped her? If it was a common kidnapping, it would be a matter of some money. Why would they want to kill Evelyn?"

"What exactly are you trying to say?" Logan Shaw asked, his tone involuntarily softened as if he was worried he might disturb something.

"Caden Lockwood and Evelyn absolutely cannot be together!" L’s tone was firm, "Not only do I disagree, but Caden Lockwood’s parents also won’t agree, and the women who want to become Mrs. Lockwood won’t agree either. Marrying into a wealthy family, especially marrying the only son of such a family, Evelyn would have to endure a lot more than just a little bit."

"I know, you need more time to think." L lowered his voice, "I won’t force you, pursuing a girl requires clarity in your mind."

After a pause, L continued, "I see great potential in you and believe you can bring Evelyn happiness. Your piano performance time is approaching, don’t hurt your hand at this time, your charm in your career is one of your assets in pursuing a girl."

With that, L turned and walked away.

"Are you Evelyn’s... big brother?" Logan Shaw suddenly asked, "Evelyn mentioned she has an adoptive big brother but doesn’t know who it is, is it you?"

L said nothing, opened the door, and left, leaving only a solitary back for Logan Shaw.
