The Ascension of Contracted Spirits

Chapter 53 - 52: Law-Figure-World_1

Chapter 53 - 52: Law-Figure-World_1

Too terrifying, too shocking.

Everywhere he looked, a wave of bleak loneliness that echoed endlessly appeared, shrouded in cloud and fog, glistening with a gray light. The ancient stone door seemed to come from the end of time, and with just a glance, it became a lingering shadow in the spiritual world, an indelible imprint for eternity.

Ye Hanjun licked his lips, his throat dry.

In his stupor, it felt as if a spark was lit inside his chest.

At first, it was a minor flicker, but it then expanded rapidly within a few breaths, quickly evolving into a roaring blaze.

How could this feeling... possibly exist?

Isn’t it only the most powerful authorities, or B-level or above, who could possibly experience such a spectacle?

This is even more exaggerated, a grey sun that suppresses heaven and earth, an old stone door that shakes the universe... is it simply due to my manifesting it into the world?

Chaotic thoughts flooded his mind, impossible to control.

Ye Hanjun felt flustered, an invisible pressure engulfing him.

He remained silent for dozens of seconds, after which he struggled to utter a few words:

"This..."

"It could be the Law-Figure-World."

"What is the Law-Figure-World?"

Huazhu’s chest heaved violently, the witch language from her mouth was spoken with extreme caution.

Ye Hanjun had no time to answer.

Because an anomaly was happening yet again.

Above the vast sky, in the center of the swirling stars, the grey sun suddenly began to spin, faster and faster.

The towering stone door remained closed, yet a sudden terrifying force of attraction erupted from it, like a black hole, it started pulling everything in and swallowing it.

Ye Hanjun was silent, trying his best to hold back with his hands.

But whether it was the sprinting meteor or the twinkling starlight, he couldn’t touch either.

All he could feel was the hazy grey light brushing past him, its coldness seeping into his skin, causing his blood to boil like water.

"Whoosh——"

His vision blurred, his head spun. Suddenly, Ye Hanjun felt grounded again.

All the apparitions vanished as though they had never been there. The space he was in was still the 2000-square-meter target training room.

Inside the training room, the moving target continued to operate. The alarm device in the corner of the room was silent, as if it had never been triggered or activated.

"Too surreal..."

Huazhu slumped down.

In just an instant, everything from her flesh to her soul was filled with fear and unease.

The way she inadvertently looked at Ye Hanjun changed over and over. It was as though she was no longer seeing a human, but a god or demon wearing a human skin.

"Yiye~~~"

The tadpole swam leisurely in its bubble with its tail swinging, as if nothing had happened.

In its emotional changes, there was no fear or shock, only novelty.

Of course, it was very spiritual.

Although it did not notice any abnormality itself, it sensed the loss of control in Ye Hanjun and the Desert Witch’s minds. Subconsciously, it turned its gaze to observe their expressions and movements.

"During a supernatural encounter, whether it’s a bloodline mutation or a leap in one’s hierarchy, phenomena can emerge."

"These are rare events, not often happening. But once they occur, they usually signify ’being different’."

"Earlier, when I signed the contract, those surrounding tornadoes and the whispering voices from beyond... Being at 1st-level, these are undoubtedly relatively strong phenomena, which would be hard to experience under normal circumstances."

Ye Hanjun furrowed his brows, standing in place like a wooden post as he muttered to himself:

"These phenomena are uncontrollable, and will disappear without a trace once the events are over."

"But what just happened... it’s different."

"Those I know of, who hold high or special ranks, their full force abilities would likewise be accompanied by phenomena."

"Their phenomena are often not random, but fixed. They are tied to the holders’ ’power’, thus emphasizing their rank’s nobility, and strength."

"This — is the ’Law-Figure-World’

"It is one of the highest level phenomena and theoretically, is controlled by the owner..."

Ye Hanjun moistens his mouth. He cannot get the dryness in his throat to fade away.

He didn’t speak a few words, because he found it hard to believe even for himself.

For his family, Law-Figure-World was not particularly mysterious. Direct descendants who could be evaluated as potential seeds could have them to some degree.

But! Only when their authorities continually grow and breakthrough, will the accompanying Law-Figure-World step by step become stronger! There would possibly be the emergence of a mysterious power from what was initially just an invisible force, indirectly enhancing the ability, or becoming part of the ability itself!

What just happened... It was too exaggerated!

All his spirits were telling him that it wasn’t a random phenomenon that appeared out of nowhere, the star river, the grey sun, the stone door... could they be the Instructor’s Law-Figure-World?!

"The Instructor... with a Talent Identification result of only E-level, yet he possesses Law-Figure-World?"

"Why didn’t it appear before? The crucial changes seemed to happen after contracting Huazhu... Could it be that the Instructor’s authority is only officially activated when a contract is officially signed?"

Ye Hanjun has been suspecting that the authority, ’Instructor’ that he actively awakened, is extraordinary.

Just the ’Talent Identification’ move alone is quite unconventional, there has never been a rumor of anyone who could project the bloodline attributes of a Fond Spirit in the form of panels into the soul.

Now, it further confirmed his speculation.

If combined with the phantom just now, the E-level evaluation, low enough to be laughable.

"What has changed in the dark, unnoticed?"

Ye Hanjun immersed himself in his spiritual world, trying to peer into his soul the way he did just now.

But to his surprise, he found that no matter how hard he tried, he couldn’t summon the stars across the sky.

The gray day rises to the sky, sitting at the pinnacle of heaven and earth, it seems unrealizable.

He... unable to control the Law-Figure-World corresponding to his power?

Or is his judgment wrong, and it’s not the Law-Figure-World but something else?

"Huh?!"

Thoughts intertwined, deep in consideration.

Ye Hanjun awakens abruptly, turns his head, and a Gray-White Stone Door unexpectedly stands behind him, silent and accompanying like a shadow.

He is startled, even Super Spirituality cannot find out the anomaly in the first place, appearing like a ghost, which is a bit startling and strange.

"No... has the Law-Figure manifest itself?"

The newly appeared stone door is completely different from what he saw before.

It was too "small", only three meters high and two meters wide.

Although it also has a bit of an ancient atmosphere, compared to the ancientness of the primeval era, it’s simply incomparable.

There are no stars around it, no brilliant light and shadow, and no gray sun.

It’s as if someone threw a door into the training room, somewhat abrupt, everything else remains the same.

"Yiye??"

GuaGua turns into an onlooker, leisurely hovering down, circling around the Gray-White Stone Door.

It didn’t find anything, nor does it seem particularly interested, instead, it’s more interested in the moving targets that are still running on the side.

"Stars crossing, Gray day rising, Stone door floating... That’s definitely the Law-Figure-World."

"This one before the eyes, has less than one ten-millionth oddity, very far apart..."

Ye Hanjun tried all sorts of things, but what could appear in front of him was only such a mini version of the Gray-White Stone Door.

Without any judgment error, this is indeed the Law-Figure-World.

But... it’s weakened quite a bit.

Having seen the grand scene, looking at this stone door which has shrunk many times over, it seems a bit strange.

"The scene just now, could it have foreshadowed that when the future level is at its peak, it’s the Great Completion version of the Law-Figure-World that Instructor can manifest?"

With doubts, Ye Hanjun moved forward a step, slowly reaching out his hand towards the door.

As expected, this door does not exist in reality, like an illusion, and can’t be touched by the body.

It stands on the edge of nothingness, wandering in the gaps of space, elusive and unfathomable.

Just thinking, a cold-hot alternation suddenly appeared in his forehead, as if something was going to emerge, it was itching and uncomfortable.

Unable to make any reaction, nor any defense.

The blue vein on Ye Hanjun’s neck bulged out, his eyeballs protruded, as if a needle pricked inside his brain, his soul was in pain.

He didn’t scream, his eyes suddenly lost focus, following some sort of guidance from deep within, he reached out to grab his forehead.

"Hiss—"

The hazy gray light was flickering, and at the position a bit above the center between his eyebrows, a slowly rotating gray day slowly appeared.

Ye Hanjun, as if his soul had come out of his body, stretched out his pale hand stiffly. Surprisingly, it didn’t touch the skin, and the joints of his fingertips disappeared, buried inside his flesh.

Then, with a light grip and pull, the gray day gradually peeled off from his forehead. A gray key about three inches long, emanating a faint misty light, appeared between Hanjun’s thumb, index and middle fingers, firmly held by him.

"Huh?!"

Ye Hanjun was startled awake, for a short few seconds, his soul was out of his body, he acted completely on instinct.

When he came to his senses, he looked down, the key in his hand felt cold, it’s between being half-real and half-illusory.

There were traces of rust on it, but it still couldn’t conceal the indescribable delicacy.

Especially at the handle, a small gray sun was like a gem inlaid into it, mysterious and ancient, always attracting people’s gaze.

"Key...Door..."

Ye Hanjun muttered to himself, staring at the hole in the middle of the Gray-White Stone Door, impulsively inserted the key in his hand into it.

"Kacha—"

Slowly turning the handle of the key, the door opened a slit.

An endless gray fog surged out, it rushed to his face, and the surrounding air instantly became like an abyss mire, he wanted to breathe, but couldn’t get any fresh air.

The fear of suffocation lingered for a moment, the gray light flashed, and Ye Hanjun seemed like his soul had left his body, he was frozen in place.

The same happened to the Desert Witch.

Her signature dim snake’s eyes are empty, without any sense of spirit.

"Yiye???"

GuaGua blinked, for the first time doubting if something went wrong with it.

It watched the gray light extinguish, the stone door closed, but still standing in front of the tadpole.

But the tadpole stood still, like a frozen corpse, without a hint of life.

GuaGua spat out some water, floated to them, looking left and right.

Seeing no reaction, he slipped back into the water with a chuckle, and poked out his head again.

Huh?

What the hell is going on?

Is it another fun new game?

The little tadpole tilted its head, its small eyes filled with big confusion.

After thinking for a while, it hid most of its body in the water.

It also imitated the rigid posture of the tadpole and Little Black Hat, making no sound and not wagging its tail, holding its breath and concentrating, pretending to be a piece of floating wood.
